Spin Exchange: Transition to a New Paradigm
June 17–20, 2025
Organizer – Acad. RAS K. M. Salikhov
Over the past five years, spin exchange has entered a critical phase — a transition from the traditional paradigm to a new one. This shift, based on decades of research and new experimental evidence, requires ongoing dialogue and interdisciplinary collaboration.
This three-part online event will bring together spin exchange users: scientists, engineers, educators, and students.
Be part of the evolution of spin exchange, which is undergoing a paradigm shift.
A new type of online conference
This three-part online event will bring together spin exchange users: scientists, engineers, educators, and students.
The program includes:
- Educational lectures and discussions on the new paradigm
- Presentations of new theoretical and experimental results
- Practical sessions on spectral calculation methods taking into account the new paradigm.
Apply to present. Get your questions ready for discussion.
Use the opportunity to communicate with colleagues in this developing field – all forms of your participation are welcome.
Welcome!
After the key publications of K.M. Salikhov in 2019, the traditional view of spin exchange, formed over the past 50-70 years, was radically changed. As a result, this field of science has entered a pivotal transition to a new paradigm.
This website is designed support this transition process and to become to create a centre of knowledge for spin exchange.
Because the paradigm shift means everyone who uses spin exchange need to understand it.

Spin Exchange
While spin exchange underlies many phenomena in quantum science, materials research, and spectroscopy, it is underutilized outside of a small circle of specialists.
This site is designed to help the scientific community leverage the knowledge about spin exchange accumulated over the years. This is especially true today, in an exciting time of paradigm shift in spin exchange.
Whether you are a scientist, a student, or someone looking for new technological solutions, this site will help you explore, understand, implement, and contribute to the future of spin exchange theory and its applications.
We plan to keep this site up-to-date as spin exchange research evolves.
You will find a lot of interesting here, including:
Experimental and theoretical observations that challenge traditional ideas in the field of spin exchange.
Description of a new spin exchange paradigm that fills gaps in established knowledge and offers testable scientific predictions.
Examples of experimental confirmation of predictions highlighting the need for continued research and expanded interdisciplinary dialogue.
